Eastern Oklahoma County communities have a number of holiday events planned.

Luther invites people to Shop Local in December from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Luther Community Center. Merchants from across the state will be there to help residents finish their Christmas shopping. The event and parking are free.

Luther will hold its annual tree lighting ceremony on Main Street at 6 p.m. Friday. The high school band will play for the free event. The town's Christmas tree will be adorned with ornaments made by kindergarten students.

Arcadia residents and visitors will be treated to Christmas music performed by local musicians at the Round Barn from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event is a throwback to gatherings held at the barn more than 100 years ago. Apple cider will be served. The performance is open to the public.

Arcadia residents can also appreciate the Christmas lights and decorations adorning the Windmill Shops shopping center and POPS restaurant, which lights up its soda bottles for the holiday.

Residents of Spencer are invited to the Holiday Open House from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Chamber of Commerce office. Those who attend will enjoy food and fellowship and be entered in a drawing for door prizes. The public also is invited to attend the Star Spencer High School Christmas Program on Thursday.
