Second stimulus plan draws mixed support from Oklahoma lawmakers
WASHINGTON — Sen. Tom Coburn says the Senate should spend this week focused on the economy, not on a package of public lands bills on which he has blocked action.

Tom Cole, R-Moore, said Congress should be careful to rush into anything during a short session when many members are retiring or have just been defeated and aren’t paying attention to the details of complicated legislation. "A lot of bad things happen in lame-duck sessions. There’s not enough time and not enough focus.’” → Rep. Mary Fallin, R-Oklahoma City, said Congress should allow time for the package to work. "We are at a point where we have to make some very difficult decisions on what types of financial obligations we can actually afford,” she said.
