Residents can get an inside look at the Edmond Police Department during a 13-week Citizens Police Academy that starts Feb. 25. Classes will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at the Downtown Community Center, 28 E Main.

“The goal of the citizens police academy is to provide residents with a better understanding about what an Edmond police officer does on a daily basis, as well as to provide information about the Edmond Police Department,” officer Randy Paynesaid.

Graduation for the 35th academy is scheduled for May 20. All applicants must be at least 18, have no criminal record and be an Edmond resident or working within the city limits. Applications are online at www.edmondok.com. For more information, go to www.edmondpd.com/cpa or call 359-4437or email Randy.Payne@edmondok.com.
