Fisherman Dave Harrell of Edmond must have had a good fight on his hands Monday as he hauled in an alligator snapping turtle that likely weighed over 100 pounds.
He posted the photo of the prehistoric looking beast on the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Facebook page, where it has drawn more than 1100 ‘likes.’
The post reads, “While catfishing we caught and released this yesterday in Mill Creek at Eufala lake. Dave Harrell of Edmond caught it on a rod and reel and Audey Clark of Norman secured it and hauled it into the boat for pictures. It is the biggest one we had ever seen.”
