Chamber hosts banquet
This year's Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce annual banquet is scheduled for Jan. 25 at the Nigh University Center ballroom on the University of Central Oklahoma campus.
“Paint the Town Red” is this year's theme.
Achievements for 2012 will be recognized at the banquet that begins at 6:30 p.m. Among the awards are the Bank of Oklahoma's Small Business of the Year, Coppermark Bank's Woman of the Year, Mercy Health's Ambassador of the Year, OU Medical Center Edmond's Tayo Fichti Young Professional of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Chairman's Award and Integris Health Volunteer of the Year.
Economic lunch planned
The Edmond Economic Development Authority 2013 Edmond Economic Preview Luncheon will be held Jan. 29.
Registration and lunch, sponsored by First Fidelity Bank, begins at 11 a.m. and the program follows at 11:30 a.m. in the Nigh University Center ballroom on the University of Central Oklahoma campus.
Registration is $40 until 5 p.m. Jan. 23. After this date, the price increases to $50. A table for eight is $300 until Jan. 23.
Cost is for the lunch and a flash drive that will include all the presentations.

Auditions set for children
Auditions for the Fine Arts Institute's production of “Annie of Green Gables,” a classic children's novel about an orphan girl with a personality loved by everyone, will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 12.
Auditions for children in the fifth through 12th grades will be on a first-come, first-served basis, said Mitzi Hancuff, Fine Arts Institute executive director.
Callbacks will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 13.
Interested people are invited to an audition workshop from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Performances will be on March 8 and 9. Cast members will spend two months in rehearsals and present three performances. A $250 tuition charge, which includes the costume fee, is required for those cast in a role.
