EDMOND
Road work to begin
Road construction will start Tuesday on Broadway, about 1,100 feet north of Covell Road to Waterloo Road. Crews will mill and overlay the roadway, which is part of this year's street overlay project awarded to Atlas Paving Co. The cost of the project is nearly $1.6 million. Work is expected to last about a week, depending on the weather. A flagman will direct the one lane of traffic that is scheduled to be open.
Firefighters to train
Edmond firefighters will be training this week along Littler Avenue from Third to Fourth streets. The street will be closed specific times over the three days.
Closings:
Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Santa Market is Saturday
The third Annual Santa Market, benefiting the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City Food Bank, will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Downtown Community Center, 28 E Main Street. Handmade items, home decor and direct sales products from more than 80 vendors will be offered. Visitors will receive an extra door prize ticket for a nonperishable food item for the Oklahoma City Food Bank. Admission is free. Big Truck Tacos will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Integris has lectures
The Intergris Health Edmond lecture series for November will cover diabetes and lung cancer. Dr. Caroline Merritt will discuss risk factors and the latest advances for those living with diabetes at noon Nov. 26. Dr. Thomas Showalter will provide insights on treatment options and coping with a lung cancer diagnosis at noon Nov. 28. The talks will be held in the conference room at Integris Health Edmond, 4801 Integris Parkway. To enroll, call 951-2277.
