City Councilman Nick Massey has raised $9,257 for his campaign to be elected to the Ward 4 seat for four years, according to contribution and expenditure reports.

Massey, who was appointed a year ago, is running against challenger Shilpa Abbitt in the April 2 general election.

Incumbent Mayor Charles Lamb is running against challenger Richard Prawdzienski.

Massey raised more money than any of the four candidates during the current reporting period. A dozen people made contributions of $250 or more to Massey's campaign.

Certified public accountant Jack Henley, Connie Dixon, chairman of the board of directors at Oklahoma City Abstract and Title, and John Houck, a surgeon and Massey's close friend and bicycle-riding companion, each contributed $1,000.

Patrice Douglas, former Edmond mayor and state Corporation Commission chairwoman, donated $500.

Developers Clay Farha and J.W. Armstrong each contributed $500. Randal Shadid, former mayor and Edmond attorney, also donated $500.

Massey had $2,063 in contributions of $200 or less through March 18. His campaign signs were donated by Toby Muller, owner of Midwest Decals, at a cost of $444.
