— An Oklahoma City man was arrested on complaints of attempting to elude a police officer, suspended driver's license and carrying a firearm, following a chase in Edmond involving a crash into a sport utility vehicle.

Korean Quintel Devon Washington, 21, was taken to the Edmond jail and expected to be moved to the Oklahoma County jail later Friday.

The chase happened about 10 a.m. Friday after a University of Central Oklahoma police officer tried to stop a motorist.

“The UCO officer thought he recognized him as being involved in crimes around campus,” said Jennifer Monroe, Edmond police spokeswoman.

A pedestrian at the 7-Eleven at Danforth Road and Kelly Avenue was nearly hit during the chase, Monroe said.

A noninjury accident happened at 15th and Kelly avenues as a result of the chase going through the intersection.

A second accident took place at 33rd Street and Kelly Avenue when the car being chased hit a sport utility vehicle. The driver of the car jumped out of the vehicle and ran, but was caught at a nearby convenience store by Edmond police, Monroe said.

No one was injured as a result of the chase, she said.
