EDMOND — The Edmond Fine Arts Institute will present the children's play, “Anne of Green Gables,” on Friday and Saturday.
The cast is made up of 23 children in the fifth through 12th grades.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Church, 700 W Second St.
Tickets are $6.
Translated into 20 languages, “Anne of Green Gables” is the classic children's novel series about a red-haired orphan girl whose personality was loved by everyone. Adopted by the Cuthbert siblings, Anne is a child of optimism and imagination.
The books were written by Lucy Maud Montgomery and the story takes place primarily on the Green Gables farm.
Peggy Hoshall is director of the play. Hoshall, who joined the institute in 2000, has more than 25 years of experience teaching and directing children's theater and performance experience in the Dallas and Oklahoma City metro areas.
Chelsea Yeager will play Anne Shirley. Dylan Carver is Matthew Cuthbert and Sarah Lemke is Marilla Cuthbert.
