EDMOND — An Edmond doctor has been arrested after six women claimed to police he had sexually assaulted and harassed them while working together at his clinic.
Dr. Medhat Michael, 52, Oklahoma City, turned himself in at the Oklahoma County jail Friday in response to a warrant alleging four complaints of sexual battery.
He was released on $40,000 bail.
Both employees and former employees accused Michael of making inappropriate comments and kissing and touching them while working at the Best Care Medical Center, 1265 E 33rd St.
Michael told The Oklahoman the allegations are baseless and false.
“Anyone can make any allegation against anyone,” Michael said.
Investigators think other employees or patients also may be victims of abuse.
“It looks like his actions are those of a sexual predator, so we are asking other victims to come forward,” said Glynda Chu, police spokeswoman.
The women began reporting sexual abuse in late October.
An arrest warrant for Michael was obtained Thursday after information was taken to the district attorney.
No charges have been filed.
The women range in age of 21 and 38.
One said she was harassed by Michael in 2008.
Police said the women reported being touched and grabbed in various places on their bodies while being told things that were not professional, reports show.
One said he also would bark like a dog and howl at her, and she had told him at least four times to stop his behavior.
A woman said the doctor would ask her if she loved him and he told her he loved her.
He talked about her figure and wanted to know what she looked like underneath her clothing, the report stated.
