EDMOND — A curling demonstration was one of the first activities at the Edmond Outdoor Ice Rink after it opened in Festival Market Place for the holiday season.
The rink at 30 W First St. will be open until Jan. 5 in downtown Edmond, a location that allows for free parking, walking access to shops and refreshments.
The rink is open every day from noon to 10 p.m. except on Christmas when it will be open from noon to 5 p.m. The rink will be open on New Year's Eve until 11 p.m.
Admission is $10 for those over 5 years old, $7 for those who bring their own skates and $5 for ages 5 and younger. People can get $2 off the ticket price with a military identification or if they bring a food item or toy for Edmond's Hope Center.
People with wheelchairs, walkers and strollers can skate from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Skate sessions are for two hours. A full-season pass is $50 and half-season is $25.
The rink, measuring 115 feet by 55 feet, is provided by the city of Edmond and Express Ice Inc.
