The student, 9, was named in a juvenile assault and battery complaint and turned over to his parents after the Nov. 19 incident at the school at 2801 S Rankin, Edmond police said.

The teacher told police she asked the student to slide down on the bench to make room for other students as they were preparing for an assembly.

The student ignored her so she put her hands on his shoulder to slide him down. The student stood up and kicked her in the back of her leg. As she turned around to face the student, he punched her in the right side of her face, the report states.

The teacher reported that before she could get any help from the other teachers, the student hit her two more times in the right side of her face, according to the report.
