EDMOND — The school district is opening a centralized enrollment center to assist students in kindergarten through 12th grade who are new to Edmond and current students who moved into a different attendance area or were granted a transfer for 2013-2014.
The center is inside the main entrance at Memorial High School, 1000 E 15th St. It will be open 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from June 24 through July 30, except July 4.
“Our goal is to make enrollment as simple as possible as we welcome new students into our district,” said Ruthie Riggs, incoming executive director of elementary education. “The center is especially helpful to parents who have several school-age children. They are able to efficiently enroll all of their children at once, saving them time and travel.”
To enroll in Edmond schools, students must live with a parent or legal guardian who resides in the Edmond Public School District. Documentation needed at the time of enrollment includes two verifiable proofs of residency, a legal birth certificate (applies to students entering prekindergarten, kindergarten and first grade), immunization records and a photo ID of the parent or guardian.
Parents are encouraged to go to www.edmondschools.net to download and complete the forms in advance.
