How to help
• Trail cleanup: Volunteers will meet in the equestrian parking lot at the end of Air Depot Boulevard south of 33rd Street. Organizers said that volunteers can stop by any time between 7:30 a.m. and noon. For more information, call 348-1397.• Other cleanup: Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at Arcadia Lake's Spring Creek Park. For more information, call 216-7471.
The June 14 flash flood has left trash and debris in the trail area.
"The Friends group would like to return the area back to its natural beauty again," said Terri Folks, co-chairman of the group.
The cleanup will be from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Trash bags will be provided by park officials.
People should wear closed-toe shoes and long pants, and bring heavy gloves.
"The good news is the park staff has used machinery to clear the trails and so the trails are now open again," Folks said. "The bad news is there is still trash that needs to be removed."
Saturday's trash sweep at Arcadia Lake will be the 13th such event.
Volunteers help clean the lake's shorelines and parks of litter and debris. Those who help will receive a T-shirt while supplies last, a hot dog lunch and free access into Arcadia Lake for the remainder of the day.
