Kyle Mauk's Eagle Scout project is to invite the community to bring their worn out flags and let the Scouts provide an appropriate retirement for them. Souvenir grommets from the flags will be available to families wishing to keep a reminder of flags with special significance to them.

“I looked everywhere for a project directly related to veterans and couldn't find one,” Mauk said about choosing his project. “This to me, now that I've worked on it, is an even greater project. Our flags are veterans too. They are everywhere we go and I hope everyone comes to an understanding and appreciation as I have."

To participate in the event, contact Kyle Mauk at 420-9708 or kfm1996@yahoo.com.
