EDMOND — The registration deadline is Tuesday for the fifth annual gingerbread house contest at the Edmond Historical Society and Museum.
Judging will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 14. People are encouraged to attend the judging.
Children 5 and older are invited to participate in the contest that starts 2 p.m. at the museum, 431 S Boulevard. Age categories are 5 to 11; 12 to 17; and 18 and older.
All the gingerbread houses must be made from edible materials — and no gingerbread kits — and placed on an 18-inch by 18-inch or smaller board.
Gingerbread houses must be taken to the museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Tuesday and Dec. 13.
Judges will name three winners in each category. Judges will be looking at creativity, appearance and use of materials.
In addition to the contest, there will be free holiday crafts and holiday treats for visitors to enjoy Dec. 14.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, go to www.edmondhistory.org, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the museum at 340-0078.
