Edmond is looking for new police officers

Applications for six new police officers in Edmond are being accepted through June 29. The new hires will be cadets in the department's third in-house police academy, which starts Nov. 26.

The new hires will be cadets in the department's third in-house police academy, scheduled to start Nov. 26.

A preliminary questionnaire can be picked up from the human resources office at 100 E First St. or at www.edmondok.com.

Candidates will then be given full applications that are due by 5 p.m. June 29.

Written examinations will follow on July 9 and July 11, and physical agility tests will be later that month.

Applicants must be at least 21, in good physical condition, a U.S. citizen and must have an excellent history of personal conduct, behavior and employment.
