Edmond looking for E-Tree nominations

Feb. 13 is the deadline for this year's E-Tree Awards presented by the Edmond Urban Forestry Commission. Awards will be presented March 25.

The Edmond Urban Forestry Commission is taking nominations for the annual E-Tree Award, presented to individuals, civic, nonprofit groups and businesses that have contributed to the growth and improvement of the city's urban forest.

Christian Brothers Automotive, Mercy Health Edmond and Integris Health Edmond were last year's winners.

Nominations are open to a project, individual or group that have shown an outstanding effort to protect, plant or maintain trees within the city. The awards will be presented during the March 25 city council meeting as part of Arbor Week.

Awards are for Outstanding Urban Forest Enhancement, Outstanding Urban Forest Preservation and Outstanding Urban Forestry Support.

Nominations can be made at http://www.edmondok.com. Forms also can be obtained by calling 359-4759 or by emailing, leigh.martin@edmondok.com. Deadline for all nominations is noon Feb. 13.
