An Edmond man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Thursday after a stabbing outside an Oklahoma City bar, police said.

Master Sgt. Gary Knight said police arrested Thomas Odell Davis Jr., 39, on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon outside of Edna's, 5137 Classen Circle.

They also arrested James Courter, 31, of Edmond, on a public intoxication complaint.

According to the incident report, Davis and Courter had an altercation with twin brothers Brett Andrew Appling and Matthew Brandon Appling, 23, both of Tuttle, during which both Applings were stabbed.

Davis told police he stabbed the brothers in self-defense and turned over his pocket knife to police, according to the police report.

The victims were taken to OU Medical Center. Both are listed in good condition, hospital spokesman Dennis Gimmel said.
