— A jury has convicted an Edmond man of first-degree rape and other offenses in a 2011 home invasion attack.

Jurors in Oklahoma County deliberated about three hours Thursday before convicting Jeremy Michael Scrivener, 22, of rape, three counts of rape by instrumentation, forcible anal sodomy, two counts of forcible oral sodomy, and burglary.

The panel recommended 139 years in prison as punishment. Scrivener will be sentenced July 30 by District Judge Ray C. Elliott, who will decide whether the sentence recommendations for each crime will be served consecutively or concurrently.

Prosecutors alleged Scrivener choked and sexually assaulted the 29-year-old woman after entering her Edmond residence without permission about 2 a.m. on Feb. 20, 2011.

Scrivener said the sex was consensual, testifying that he was too drunk to remember exactly what happened. His attorney could not be reached for comment.

The woman told jurors she didn't know her attacker. She said she was able to get a good look at him when she turned on a closet light during the assault. She identified Scrivener in court as her attacker.

Investigators were able to match Scrivener's DNA to samples taken from the victim, who lived in the same trailer park as the defendant, prosecutors said.

Assistant District Attorney Suzanne Lavenue declined to comment. has disabled the comments for this article.
