Tyler Ray Scott, 29, was free Monday from the Oklahoma City jail on $30,000 bail. He is named in complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and pointing a weapon at another.
Scott was arrested after the 1:30 a.m. incident Sunday.
The taxi driver told police several shots were fired at him after he dropped off a passenger at the house, said Jennifer Monroe, Edmond police spokeswoman.
The passenger had been picked up on Memorial Road and driven to the house on Douglas. The passenger told the driver he had to go inside to get the money to pay him, and returned with a gun, Monroe said.
“He fired several shots at the driver without hitting him,” Monroe said. “The driver ran to his cab, drove off and called 911.”
Officers first tried to make contact with Scott inside the house by calling him and using a public announcement system.
After several hours without any success, Monroe said, the SWAT team was called and Scott was arrested about 6:15 a.m. without incident.
