Edmond names Site Teachers of the Year

Twenty-four Edmond School District teachers this week were named Site Teachers of the Year for the 2010-11 school year by their fellow teachers.

Twenty-four Edmond School District teachers this week were named by their fellow teachers as Site Teachers of the Year for the 2010-11 school year.

Each will complete a 10-minute video, due by Dec. 1, to be considered as finalists for the district.

The Teacher of the Year Selection Committee will review the videos from Feb. 14-25. Interviews with the finalists are scheduled for March 8.

The winner will be announced during the Edmond Public Schools Foundation's Celebration of Excellence in the spring, and automatically will be in the running for the state's teacher of the year award.

Site Teachers of the Year

• Rebeca King, an English language learner teacher at Angie Debo Elementary School.

• Fran Porter, a health and physical education teacher at Centennial Elementary School.

• Erin Keleher, a Title I reading teacher at Charles Haskell Elementary School.

• Kelley Satterfield, a second-grade teacher at Chisholm Elementary School.

• Julie White, a prekindergarten teacher at Clegern/Clyde Howell Elementary School.

• Dianna Sikes, a third-grade teacher at Cross Timbers Elementary School.

• Frances Smith, a second-grade teacher at Ida Freeman Elementary School.
