Edmond North dominates Moore for Class 6A championship
Huskies explode early in 11-2 rout for state title.
Edmond North exploded out the gates, collecting eight hits off Moore starting pitcher Jenna Lynn in the first two innings as the Huskies downed the Lady Lions 11-2 in the 6A championship game. North ended the game outhitting Moore, 15-2.

Moore scored a run in the first inning, while North answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Huskies tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the second and starting pitcher Jordan Dixon settled in to hold Moore to the two runs on two hits.
Despite having the run on the board, Dixon managed to not give up a hit until the top of the third inning. After Tianna Gutierrez reached on a single, Caitlin Hall brought her home on a double to cut North's lead to 6-2.
The Huskies added to that lead in the fourth as Abby Taliaferro drove in Madison Nordyke and Taliaferro came home on a single by Bridget White to extend the lead to 8-2.
The Lady Lions threatened in the fifth as Gutierrez and Caiti Hall reached on back-to-back walks with one out. Brianna McArthur then loaded the bases after being hit by a pitch, but Dixon got out of the jam, recording a strikeout and flyout to end the inning.
North got a double play to end the sixth and added three runs in the bottom half to jump in front by nine. Dixon allowed two baserunners to reach in the top of the seventh but the Huskies kept Moore from scoring to secure the 11-2 win.
βIt feels great,β said Edmond North assistant coach Jon Hunter. βI'm just really excited for the girls. They've worked hard. If you'd asked me about today, I would have told you I was nervous, but I really felt like these girls believed they couldn't be beat. That's how we came out and played.β
