Ham radio operators in Edmond provide critical communications during emergencies and severe weather events. If you would like to know more about the marvel of worldwide communication, the Edmond Amateur Radio Society is giving a demonstration of its emergency capabilities June 27-28. You’ll meet with Edmond’s ham radio operators and learn what the Amateur Radio Service is all about.

The group will be at the Oak Cliff Fire Department Station No. 2, at Charter Oak and Santa Fe. Come out and see ham radio’s new capabilities and learn how to get a FCC license.

Road talk
Judith Burton of Edmond said she has been reading the comments of motorists, joggers and cyclists during the past few months. "Until more roads in Edmond have shoulders or bike lanes, the Edmond City Council, Parks and Recreations, runners and bike clubs could meet together and designate certain roadways and times of day for use so that motorists can be better aware. If I were a jogger or cyclist, I would want all the protection I could get,” she wrote.
