A request to rezone property near Saints Boulevard and Second Street to multifamily will be considered by planning commissioners Tuesday.

The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at 20 S Littler Ave.

Neighbors in Arbor Creek housing addition are against changing the zoning from commercial to multifamily to make way for 285 apartments on 22.59 acres. They have circulated petitions and voiced their opposition during a community connection meeting.

Some homeowners think changing the zoning will lower their property values. Others said they were told medical offices would be built next to their property.

Arbor Creek is north of Second Street and south of Danforth Road along Saints Boulevard, just east of Interstate 35. There are 163 homes and 78 townhomes in the Arbor Creek housing addition.
