EDMOND — An attempted abduction this afternoon of a 15-year-old girl was reported by Edmond Police.
About 3:10 p.m., the teenager was walking near 21{+s}{+t} and Boulevard when she was grabbed by wrist by a man who attempted to pull her into a white minivan, police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said.
She said the man in the minivan called to girl, she ignored him, but he then drove up close to her and grabbed her.
The suspect is described white male, about 5 foot 8 inches tall in his 30s. He was wearing a black ball cap and a brown jacket, Chu said. The minivan is described as older model with possible damage to driver's side.
Another car pulled up behind the suspect's van, and apparently scared the suspect who jumped back in the van and drove off leaving the victim, Chu said.
The second vehicle is described as a newer model vehicle, gray or bluish in color.
Chu said police are asking for the driver of the second vehicle or anyone who might have witnessed the event to call 359-4454.
