About 3:10 p.m., the girl was walking near 21st and Boulevard when she was grabbed by the wrist by a man who attempted to pull her into a white minivan, police spokeswoman Glynda Chu said.

She said the man in the minivan called to the girl and she ignored him, but he then drove up close to her and grabbed her.

The man is described as a white male, about 5 foot 8 inches tall and in his 30s. He was wearing a black ball cap and a brown jacket, Chu said. The minivan is described as an older model with possible driver’s side damage.

Another car pulled up behind the man’s van, and apparently scared the man, who jumped back in the van and drove off, leaving the victim behind, Chu said.

The second vehicle is described as a newer-model vehicle that is gray or bluish in color.
