Edmond Rotary awards scholarships

The Edmond Rotary Club awarded $2,000 scholarships to four high school students.

Preston Williams plans to study electrical engineering at Oklahoma State University. Williams has participated in and received awards in Francis Tuttle's Pre-Engineering Academy. He has spent more than 100 hours as a leader in the Robotics Club at Edmond North and received first place at the University of Oklahoma engineering competition for three years in a row. Williams volunteers at Turning Point Ministries, the Regional Food Bank and Edmond North's drama department. He is the son of Jim and Pam Williams.

Each student will receive $500 per semester for the fall and spring semesters of their freshman and sophomore years on condition that they maintain a 2.5 grade-point average.

The funds will be paid directly to the college or university.
