Smoking in the park
As for strong athletes, Tanya Dehne of Edmond said she was thrilled to know the city’s parks and recreation department is considering banning smoking at Edmond parks and sports fields. "I have a son who plays baseball at Edmond All Sports. I can’t tell you how many times people have been smoking on the back fields of the park or standing right outside the fence at the armory and all that smoke has to be inhaled by the players during a game,” she wrote.
"
Now that everyone is aware of the damage secondhand smoke can do, I am still surprised at the people who light up anyway, endangering the health of these kids. Do you have any idea how this will be enforced? A big fine perhaps. If the city is needing a ‘smoke enforcement officer’ I will be the first to volunteer.”
Sounds like the type of job where you could get burned Tanya. I’d leave the enforcement to the professionals.
