EDMOND — Edmond Santa Fe's Tre Kelley was at a loss for words after his team's 31-21 win Friday over Edmond North to clinch the District 6A-2 football championship.

“Amazing,” the senior receiver said. “Like, amazing.”

He thought some more about his team's incredible turnaround from 1-9 last year to district champs this year.

“Like, amazing,” Kelley repeated. “To go from 1-9 to beating your archrival for the district championship? You couldn't ask for a bigger stage.”

Kelley was lights out. He caught five passes for 185 yards and a touchdown — including catches of 67 and 82 yards that set up the team's first two scores.

After Edmond Santa Fe failed to get a first down on the second half's opening drive, Edmond North's Garrett Molinsky fumbled the punt return.

Santa Fe didn't score on that drive, but Edmond North fumbled a snap on its next drive and gave the Wolves the ball on their 15-yard line.

One play later, sophomore quarterback Justice Hansen connected with Kelley for a 15-yard touchdown.

The Huskies fumbled the ensuing kickoff return, and three plays later, Hansen found junior Dale Jefferson for an 18-yard touchdown that made the score 24-3.
