UCO plans tailgate for students
EDMONDUniversity of Central Oklahoma President Roger Webb is inviting area high school students to the campus Saturday for food, football and music.

A pre-game tailgate party with free food starts at 4 p.m. at Wantland Stadium, and the football game against Texas A&M–Commerce starts at 6 p.m.

Students then can attend a concert featuring Austin-based Ben Kweller at 10 p.m. on the south lawn of Hamilton Field House. Cody and the Bishops, of Tulsa, will be the opening act.

Students must call the president's office to register for the food, game and concert at 974-2311.

Guthrie to host homecoming
GUTHRIE — Residents are invited to a community pep rally for Guthrie's football homecoming.

The pep rally will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Guthrie High School gymnasium. Activities will continue Friday with events for alumni, a parade at 2 p.m. and tailgating at 5:30 p.m. The game against Durant will start at 7:30 p.m.

Deer Creek seeks teachers, drivers
The Deer Creek School District is searching for substitute teachers and bus drivers.

For more information, go to www.deercreekschools.org/ or the district's administration office at NW 206 and MacArthur. Substitutes must attend a meeting at 3 p.m. Oct. 7 in the Deer Creek Middle School library, 21175 MacArthur.

Certified substitutes will make $70 a day, and noncertified substitutes will make $60 a day. Beginning pay for bus drivers is $12 an hour.
