EDMOND — A school bus and three vehicles were involved in a collision Tuesday morning at Boulevard and Danforth Road in Edmond.
Two people received minor injuries. Six children on the bus going to John
Ross Elementary School were not injured, police said.
The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash told police he was talking on his cell phone at the time of the accident, said
Glynda Chu,
Edmond Police Department spokeswoman. He was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
Dillon Hart, 17, of Edmond, was driving a sport utility vehicle west on Danforth Road, about 8:15 a.m., and turned in front of a minivan going east.
The momentum of the crash carried the first two vehicles over the divider curb at the intersection and hit the school bus and a car, driven by
Lisa Davis, 46, of Edmond, Chu said.
The school bus driver,
Monty Childs, 42, and the driver of the minivan,
Diana Kay Hopkins, 40, of Edmond, received minor injuries and were taken for treatment by private vehicles, Chu said.
The bus was only bumped, Chu said, and the children on board were taken to school.
Six children on the bus going to John Ross Elementary School were not injured, police said.
