Edmond Senior Center honors volunteer of the month

Edmond Senior Center announces its June Volunteer of the Month.

"Five years ago, I moved to Edmond to be closer to my sister and her family after my retirement,” Bleau said.

Bleau worked in Providence, R.I., as a nanny, cook and housekeeper for 48 years. While living there she was involved with Hamilton House, a center for active seniors, and received an award from the state senate for her volunteer work.

"After settling down in Edmond, I became a member of the Edmond Senior Center. I sing with the Golden Harmonizers and dance in the Tuesday Line Dance group,” she said.

Bleau is also a member of the Spiritual Voices Community Choir.

"I volunteer whenever I can and truly enjoy all of the activities that I take part in,” she said.

Edmond Senior Center is at the west entrance to J.L. Mitch Park, 2733 Marilyn Williams Drive.
