Edmond Senior Center honors volunteer of the month
Edmond Senior Center announces its June Volunteer of the Month.
Claire Bleau is the Edmond Senior Center Volunteer of the Month for June.
"Five years ago, I moved to Edmond to be closer to my sister and her family after my retirement,” Bleau said. Bleau worked in Providence, R.I., as a nanny, cook and housekeeper for 48 years. While living there she was involved with Hamilton House, a center for active seniors, and received an award from the state senate for her volunteer work. "After settling down in Edmond, I became a member of the Edmond Senior Center. I sing with the Golden Harmonizers and dance in the Tuesday Line Dance group,” she said. Bleau is also a member of the Spiritual Voices Community Choir. "I volunteer whenever I can and truly enjoy all of the activities that I take part in,” she said. Edmond Senior Center is at the west entrance to J.L. Mitch Park, 2733 Marilyn Williams Drive. For more information about its programs and activities, call 216-7600.
