Edmond seniors learn to defend

Edmond Senior Center is offering basic awareness self defense techniques. The recreation center is open Monday through Friday for senior adults.

People who attend the Edmond Senior Center have been learning the best way to take care of themselves if they should find themselves in danger.

The center is offering a series of basic awareness self-defense techniques. Classes are taught by Gene Schultingkeeper, a sixth-degree black belt and judo expert.

The center is a recreation facility for senior adults offering a wide range of adult educational programs, fitness classes, day trip opportunities, special events and activities.

The center, at 2733 Marilyn Williams Drive, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, go to or call, 216-7600.
