16-year-old Jasmine Pascoe, a senior at Edmond Memorial High School, is weighing her college options after receiving a perfect mark on the ACT.

— Edmond Memorial High School senior Jasmine Pascoe isn't normally a crier, but what the teen accomplished this fall wasn't normal either.

Pascoe did what only 704 out 1.6 million students have done so far this year: Ace the ACT.

“I don't cry,” Pascoe said. “But I cried when I saw my score. It vindicated all the hard work I had done. ”

Pascoe's father said he was not surprised by his daughter's accomplishment. From a young age, Handel and Renee Pascoe knew their daughter was special. Signs were everywhere.

Jasmine Pascoe's elementary school administrators apologized to her parents for wasting her first-grade year and sent her directly to the third grade. A year later, the school once again felt Jasmine Pascoe had wasted a grade learning what she already knew. And though Handel Pascoe chose for his daughter not to skip another grade as the school suggested, he certainly knew she could've handled the load.

“Jasmine always had the unique ability to understand things very quickly and see things from all the different sides even when she was young,” he said.

Now Jasmine Pascoe, 16, and one of the youngest seniors in her class, has distinguished herself once again with a perfect score of 36 on the nationally administered test. The score is Pascoe's most noted achievement to date, in addition to being a National Merit and National Achievement semifinalist.
