Edmond utility customer service move delayed
There will be a one-week delay in the Edmond utility customer service move to 7 N Broadway. People can start paying utility bills at the new location March 18.
EDMOND — The move for utility customer service has been delayed by a week while renovations at the new location are completed.
People can continue to pay their utility bills at the administration building, 100 E First St., through 5 p.m. Friday.
Original plans were to move this weekend, but the building at 7 N Broadway is not ready, said Ross VanderHamm, city finance director and city clerk.
“There was just a lot of small stuff,” VanderHamm said.
Human resources is expected to move Tuesday. Payroll, treasury, finance and purchasing will follow, with those moves to be finished by Thursday or Friday.
The move is necessary because the administration building is being demolished to make room for a public safety center that will include police headquarters, 911 communications and emergency management operations.
There will be no drive-thru windows at the new location, known as the Hargrove Building. People will need to go inside to pay their bills, VanderHamm said.
There is on-street parking and a lot on the north end of the Hargrove Building.
