With all 31 precincts reporting, the unofficial results show the vote was 38.8 percent yes and 61.2 percent no.

The defeat leaves Edmond with a police station, 911 center and emergency operations headquarters that city officials said are too small and out of date.

Mayor Dan O’NeilÖ said, “I am disappointed. It’s a complicated issue that didn’t get a lot of help with this economy. I think more people were confused instead of convinced.”

Police Chief Bob Ricks Ö said, “I am deeply disappointed for the men and women of the Edmond Police Department.
