EDMOND — Edmond's Farmers Market at Festival Market Place is open for the season that continues through Oct. 26.
The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday except May 4, the weekend of Edmond's Arts Festival.
“Our goal is to provide garden-related products and produce, grown and/or made regionally, offered for sale at the market,” said Diane Self, Edmond's parks and recreation program director.
Vendors must produce or grow at least 30 percent of what they are selling.
Offerings at the downtown market include breads, pastries, pies, flowers, bedding, vegetable plants and produce such as strawberries, eggs, lettuce, asparagus, tomatoes and corn. There also are Made in Oklahoma products such as candles, soaps and bath products.
A lot of the fresh produce won't be available until May, Self said.
The first day of this year's market was Saturday.
“We had a great opening day,” Self said. “It was the best opening day that we have had in a while. There were a lot of people.”
