Kurt Miller of Edmond won a world title in the senior division at the Shotgun World Championships in Hungary last month.

Miller, 53, who heads the three-gun division at the Oklahoma City Gun Club, won the gold medal in the event sanctioned every three years by the International Practical Shooting Confederation.

Miller also captained a U.S. squad that finished fourth in the world championships behind Finland, Russia and Italy.

Miller described the event as “kind of like an action pistol match only with shotguns.” Shooters were scored on speed and accuracy.

Miller shot 350 rounds of bird shot, 40 slugs, and 32 rounds of buckshot in the contest. He finished 12th overall and first in the senior division for ages 50 and older.

In his career, Miller has 43 major match victories, two U.S. titles, five English Open crowns and one German shotgun championship.
