STILLWATER

Oklahoma State ranks

No. 5 in green power list

Oklahoma State University has been ranked No. 5 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Top 20 College & University list for buying green power. OSU buys more than 110 million kilowatt-hours of green power every year, which is about two-thirds of the electricity used on the Stillwater campus. In late 2011, OSU entered into a 20-year agreement with Oklahoma Gas & Electric to provide wind power to the Stillwater campus. Cowboy Wind Farm is a 26-turbine, 60-megawatt facility near Blackwell, and it began generating two-thirds of campus electricity Jan. 1.
