OCCC readies
for semester
The spring semester at Oklahoma City Community College kicks off Jan. 22, and campus offices will have special hours in the coming days. The offices of advising, recruitment and admissions, testing, records, registration and financial aid will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays through Jan. 24. The offices will close at 6 p.m. Friday. First-time students must complete an online application at www.occc.edu. Returning students can enroll in person or online. The college will celebrate ahead of the first day of classes with opening day festivities. Campus will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 19, and student service offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 682-6222.
MAPS meeting scheduled
A community meeting is planned for upcoming renovations to Pierce Elementary School. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the school, 2601 S Tulsa. The $2 million renovation plan includes four new classrooms and a gym. Pierce Elementary opened in 1956 and has room for about 265 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade.
