Kingston students raise awareness
KINGSTON — Members of the Kingston National Honor Society are selling Kingston High School purple shirts for Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month in February. The effort kicks off Feb. 1 during a basketball game against Comanche. T-shirts are $10. Half of the proceeds will be donated to help local families affected by domestic violence. Orders will be taken through Tuesday to guarantee delivery for the Feb. 1 "Purple Game." To order, call (580) 564-2384 or email swestmoreland@kingston.k12.ok.us.
High school writing workshop set
MIDWEST CITY — Rose State College will host its annual high school writing workshop March 8. Topics range from creativity to sonnets to the skills of writing. Fiction and poetry writing contests will be included in the program this year. The deadline to enroll is Feb. 13 and enrollment is free.
