CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Eastern Illinois University's women's basketball coach has resigned.

EIU Athletic Director Barbara Burke announced Thursday that head coach Brady Sallee was leaving his position to "pursue other professional opportunities." The school says a national search for his replacement will start immediately.

Sallee has been at Eastern Illinois for eight seasons. He has taken the team to three straight post-season appearances. His career record is 136-110.
