El Reno will kick off its holiday celebrations Thursday.

— Christmas season gets in full swing Thursday in El Reno as the city kicks off its “Christmas on the Western Frontier.”

A Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. with a theme of “Stories for Christmas.” A Christmas tree lighting ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in Petree Plaza. Entertainment will be provided by The Damrosch Music Club.

A Downtown Business Open House will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Visitors can stroll through downtown for special holiday promotions, free treats and trolley rides. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Youngheim's Plaza following the parade.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, Lights in Legion Park, featuring thousands of lights and displays, will begin and run through December. For more information, call 262-8687.
