Elephant Revival to perform in Norman park

Elephant Revival will bring its special brand of music to Norman's Lions Park on Aug. 25.

Elephant Revival will be featured in concert at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Lions Park, Flood Avenue and Symmes Street, as part of the Summer Breeze concert series sponsored by the Performing Arts Studio.

Elephant Revival members are Sage Cook on banjo, guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, bass and fiddle; Bridget Law on fiddle and octave fiddle; Bonnie Paine on washboard, djembe, musical saw and stompbox; Dango Rose on double-bass, mandolin and banjo; and Daniel Rodriguez on guitar, banjo and bass.

All members sing and write songs. The group describes its music as “transcendental folk,” which incorporates elements of Scottish/Celtic fiddle tunes, original folk music, traditional ballads, bluegrass, indie rock, reggae, jazz standards and an occasional hip-hop beat.
