Employers not required to pay car or birth control insurance

Mark Lash (Your Views, March 2) is confusing access with payment. My employer doesn't pay for my car insurance but that doesn't mean they're denying me access to car insurance. If an employer chooses not to pay for abortifacients, they aren't denying anyone access to them. If Lash wants to argue that abortion and contraception should be paid for by someone other than the user, he's free to do so. What he's not free to do is falsely claim that if an employer doesn't pay for something they're denying their employees access to that product or service.
