Energy provides boost for Oklahoma's recent wage growth

Weekly wages in Oklahoma grew 4.5 percent in the 12-month period ending in June 2011, the fifth-best rate among the states and the District of Columbia , according to federal data released Monday.

Despite that growth, the state's average weekly wage of $749 ranks 41st, the figures from the Southwest Information Office of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics show.
