‘Heaven's Rain' filmmaker says he is grateful he forgave triggerman
Former Oklahoma state Sen. Brooks Douglass, who co-wrote and produced the feature film “Heaven's Rain,” said he is grateful he forgave the man who killed his parents, the Rev. Richard and Marilyn Douglass. Brooks Douglass forgave Glen Burton Ake during a meeting at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. The encounter is depicted in “Heaven's Rain,” which will be available on DVD June 1. Ake died April 21 at a prison hospital.
