ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit gets break

/> "I really don’t mind it,” Herbstreit, 39, a former Ohio State quarterback, said of the trips. "The thing I don’t like is not being able to see the games.”

While in the air, Herbstreit can’t watch the afternoon college games, though he said he tapes them for later viewing.

Herbstreit will be broadcasting his first Bedlam game, working with play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger and sideline reporter Lisa Salters.

The Sooners are expected to need a strong performance to overtake Texas in the BCS rankings and earn a spot in the Big 12 finals against Missouri.

"Oklahoma needs Round 2 of exactly what it did to Texas Tech at home last week,” Herbstreit said earlier in the week. Herbstreit said he has been voting the Longhorns ahead of the Sooners because of Texas’ 45-35 victory over OU.
