BRISTOL, Conn. — Former Texas Tech basketball coach Bob Knight, who has belittled the media for years in postgame news conferences, has decided to join them.

Next month Knight will join ESPN as a men's college basketball studio analyst. He will begin work March 12 from ESPN's studios in Bristol, Conn., and conclude April 7 from ESPN's set in San Antonio, site of the men's Final Four. The winningest coach in Division I men's basketball with 902 victories, Knight also will appear on select ESPN shows and platforms, including "SportsCenter,” ESPN Radio and ESPNews.

"I think ESPN has been real good for college basketball, and I look forward to working with some of their people who I have known a long time,” Knight said.

Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president, said, "Coach Knight is a legend with a depth of knowledge on tournament basketball. Fans have always found him to be a compelling listen.”

Knight, who resigned as Texas Tech coach on Feb. 4, won three NCAA championships with Indiana.

How hilarious is this!?!! He always said Kelvin Sampson was a loser and when ESPN is given the choice to pick Knight or Sampson, it's Knight in a rout. It's hilarious imagining the writers from The Okahoman keep a straight face while writing their columns. They suppressed the truth about Sampson JUST BECAUSE HE WAS AT OU. It's funny how The Oklahoman propaganda machine gets exposed by real journalists. Go Bobby Knight!!!

It's all about entertainment these days. Knight is a "compelling listen," as the silver tounged ESPN VP said. Which means ESPN knows whatever the heck he will say people will want to see it, even if its one of his dumb egotistical tirades. Fairness and ratings are not bedfellows, that's for sure.

He's a disgrace. So, he'll fit right in with the ESPN corporate culture.

A guy who publicly curses the media gets a job with a major media outlet? Wow! Like you said Billy, they must be hurting!

Only thing I have to say is ESPN is hurting for an analyst. Tie all the chairs down and don't get within slaping distance.
